I have always believed that people who have grown up watching El Deseo films have dreamed of being "An Almodovar Girl". When I thought about the direction this project should take I thought about what I had yearned for at the height of finding their own identity, which I consider to be adolescence. Even though I could have also taken the Tumblr 2014 path, I felt it should be tied to what I believe we always go back to in life, which is the origin. That's why I decided on the production company and the Manchego director's obsession with the mother.
I wanted to reflect this way of being in the world without using any frame that belonged to any of them (or at least before Pedro directed them).
